A Final Decision

Jey and I have known for quite some time the sex of our new little addition and with having the amnio results back we were finally 100% reassured. I had previously been looking at the multitudes of nursery beddings from prefabricated to custom. Its safe to say that I was completely overwhelmed. I loved the idea of having a custom bedding that I could completely choose the colors, fabrics and design but then again looking at the 100's of fabric swatches I was soon to realize that maybe it wasn't such a good idea. What if I picked the wrong colors to go together and nothing worked out? It was definitely something that I needed to really discuss with my one and only, Jey. Do I really need to mention that Jey is not...let's just say "in tune with his interior decorating side."
Each night I would drag Jey into the office and show him bedding after bedding, color swatch after color swatch and I think it ended up confusing both of us more. The good thing was I knew we were both on the same page when it came to how we want to decorate the nursery, we just didn't know how to put all the colors and fabrics together. As week 20 quickly approaches I had to make a decision with the bedding because the custom bedding on average will take 12 weeks. Last night, finally at midnight I made the executive decision to order the bedding and am praying that all my color swatches will work out great together. If not this child will have one weird looking nursery bedding..but hey, at least I can say "It's Custom,Baby!"
I also found a company who makes custom hand-painted letters out of wood that is specifically designed to match your nursery bedding. I ordered the letters last night for the baby's room, and those take 8 weeks to come in. I'm extremely nervous with how long things are going to take to come in and by the way it looks, the nursery won't be near done until I'm likely 30-35 weeks and with my history of delivering preterm I'm even more uneasy. I have added a picture of the custom lettering that the company does that I ordered "Baby J's" from....please be advised upfront that the name and painting is not directed at the sex nor the theme of the nursery!! :)

"Baby J"

Last week Jey and I had our amniocentisis and it was a success. We are happy to announce that everything (so far) has come back perfect and we are having a.....BABY! "Baby J" is doing extremely well and is still a little small but the doctor says everything is A-OK! He is certain that this child, like Jackson will be small and definitely not weigh 8 pounds! That is just fine with me! :) Here is a picture that my best friend made of "Baby J" on her computer with one of my ultrasounds, it was very sweet of her.

Jey and Jackson are both doing well and Jey's been quite busy with his landscaping business. After being out for 2 years, he is thrilled to be back in it! I think he gets quite bored around here during the day and definitely needs this. He's been having a great time with it so far and is doing really well. We are getting ready to take a trip to Virginia Beach in a couple weeks and can't wait to see everyone and all the progress done on the house. It should be fun!

Love from ours to yours!!
**Here are a picture of Jackson hiding from us....CAN YOU FIND HIM??

Jackson's going to be a......

STAR!!

On Friday, Jackson had his first school performance and did extremely well. Grandma Cathy surprised Jackson that morning in the audience and he sure did put on a show for her. The entire school of 2 year olds performed to multiple songs with different dances. Jackson is such a great listener that this was the perfect thing for him. He stayed on stage and listened and watched what the other kids and teachers were doing and followed right in step. We were so proud of him!!
Next breaking news....I am just about 16 weeks pregnant and am scheduled to have an amniocentisis on Wednesday. Jey and I are certain everything with baby is fine, it's just one of those things that needs to be done since I have a minor chromosome abnormality (recently discovered). The results take about 2 weeks to come in, and when I get them I will be sure to post the newly discovered findings!
Love from ours to yours!
